Privacy Policy

Effective date: 5 August 2026

1. Who this covers

This Privacy Policy describes how Open Gen Studio (the “App”) and this marketing website (the “Site”), operated by Jamie Fairweather (“I”, “me”, or “the developer”), handle information.

The App is a local Windows desktop studio for AI image generation. It is not a cloud account product and does not require you to create an account with me. Generation runs on your machine; I do not operate a generation backend that receives your prompts or images.

2. Short version

  • Generation runs on your machine and your GPU. Prompts, images, Blueprints, models, and local settings stay on your device by default.
  • I do not operate a backend that receives your prompts, images, or gallery for core generation.
  • As of the effective date, the App has no first-party telemetry, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or marketing trackers.
  • Optional network actions you start (installs, model lookups, downloads) may contact third-party hosts such as Hugging Face, CivitAI, or GitHub under their own policies.
  • Optional API tokens you paste are stored in your OS credential store and are sent only to those providers when needed for a request you start.

3. Information processed on your device

The App may create or access the following locally on your computer. This is processed on-device to run the studio; it is not uploaded to me as part of core generation:

  • App settings, job history metadata, and local database files
  • Prompts, seeds, and other generation parameters you enter
  • Images and other files you generate or import into the gallery
  • Blueprint, LoRA, model, and related asset files
  • GPU and environment details needed to install and supervise the local runtime (ComfyUI) and related components
  • Optional provider tokens you choose to save (via the operating system credential manager)

Local runtime traffic (for example the App talking to ComfyUI on your machine over localhost) stays on your device.

4. Information that may leave your device

The App may make network requests when you start an action that needs a remote resource, or when an install/download you start needs one. Those requests go from your computer to the third party that hosts the resource—not to a developer analytics or generation service operated by me.

Examples include:

  • Downloading the ComfyUI Windows portable runtime or related pinned components from GitHub or other configured URLs
  • Resolving or expanding model / LoRA page URLs you provide (for example metadata lookups against CivitAI or Hugging Face APIs)
  • Checking whether a Hugging Face repository is gated before or during a download you start
  • Downloading model weights, LoRAs, upscalers, or other assets from Hugging Face, CivitAI, GitHub, or other URLs you configure
  • Sending an optional API token to a provider as part of a gated download or authenticated API request you start
  • Opening http(s) links you choose in your system browser

Those requests typically include ordinary connection data (such as your IP address), the URL requested, and a product User-Agent string identifying Open Gen Studio. Third parties process that under their own privacy policies and terms. Review them before using their services.

If you install the App from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may collect Store-related diagnostic or usage information under Microsoft’s privacy statement. That collection is controlled by Microsoft, not by in-App telemetry from me.

5. This website

The Site is a marketing and distribution page. As of the effective date, I do not run first-party advertising pixels, marketing analytics SDKs, or account systems on the Site.

Like most websites, when you visit the Site your browser automatically sends standard technical data to the hosting and content-delivery infrastructure that serves the pages (for example IP address, user agent, requested URL, and approximate time). That infrastructure may retain access logs under the host’s own policies. I do not use those logs to build marketing profiles of visitors.

The Site may link to GitHub, Microsoft, model hosts, or other third-party sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices.

6. What I do not collect

As of the effective date above, I do not:

  • Require an Open Gen Studio account or login
  • Receive your prompts, images, or gallery contents on servers I operate for generation
  • Include first-party product telemetry, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or marketing trackers in the desktop App
  • Sell your personal information

If that changes, this policy will be updated before those features ship.

7. Tokens and credentials

If you choose to save a Hugging Face or CivitAI token, it is stored using your operating system credential manager (for example Windows Credential Manager). Tokens are not uploaded to me. They are used only to authenticate requests to the relevant provider when you start a lookup, install, or download that needs them.

You can clear saved tokens in the App (where the control is available) or through your OS credential tools.

8. Your choices and controls

  • You can use the App offline for local work once required files are already on disk (network is needed for installs, lookups, and remote downloads).
  • You can decline to save Hugging Face or CivitAI tokens; gated or authenticated requests that need them will fail until you provide one.
  • You can delete local App data, generated files, models, and credentials using normal OS tools or in-App controls where available.
  • Uninstalling the App removes the application package. User data, model folders, runtime installs, and other files under App Data or custom data directories may remain until you delete them.

9. Children

The App and Site are not directed to children under 13, or under the higher minimum digital-consent age in your country if that age is greater than 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App or Site. If you believe a child has provided personal information to me, contact me and I will delete it where I hold it.

10. International users and data protection

The App runs on your device. Optional network actions may contact servers in other countries operated by third parties. If you use those services, their controllers, transfers, and retention rules apply.

For core local generation I am not receiving your prompts or images, so there is typically no personal generation content held by me to access, correct, or delete. If you contact me by email, I will process the contact details and message content you send in order to respond. You may ask me to delete that correspondence where applicable.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy when privacy practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised, and the current version will be published at this URL. For material changes that introduce new collection by me, I will update this policy before those features ship.

12. Contact

For privacy questions about Open Gen Studio, open a GitHub issue at https://github.com/Jamie-Fairweather/open-gen-studio/issues and say it is a privacy request so I can follow up privately (for example via email reply outside the public thread).

Do not post secrets, tokens, or sensitive personal data in public issues.
